When to schedule an appointment?

It’s recommended to reach out to your seamstress of choice when you PURCHASE your gown.

Your first appointment should be for 3-4 months prior to your wedding date.

You will need to schedule your first appointment up to eight months ahead of time depending on the season (and year). As an example, by early February 2022, Rethread Alterations was fully booked up for wedding dates through mid August. This was an unprecedented year, but could be the trend to come.

Wedding season in Oregon is April-October. If your wedding is during this time, please plan ahead and contact your preferred alteration studio when you order your gown.

What to expect at your wedding fitting appointment?

Wedding gown fittings take approximately 45min. There is a one time $35 wedding gown consultation fee due at booking to confirm your time slot. 

You will need to bring your bra, slip and shoes you will be wearing at the event if they are needed with your gown. Rethread Alterations has bra cups size A-H that can be sewn into the gown. Please let me know your size when booking so I am sure to have it on hand or it can be ordered.

The dress will be pinned to show you an ideal fit for the alterations you desire.

For dresses with a train you will be shown bustle options to choose the best look for your wedding budget.

Fees for desired alterations will be discussed, so you can decide on the best look that meets your needs and budget. A full estimate is provided at an in person consultation only.

The cost of alterations is based on the complexity of each task and your desired alterations you would like done. Most brides will be needing $450-800 of alterations. Be sure you budget that in when choosing a dress. A rush service option is available for those that need a quicker turnaround time for an additional fee of 50%.

Where do I go for my fitting?

Like most bridal seamstresses -I work out of my home office space. You will be provided with directions and welcome information with your appointment confirmation details.

can i bring visitors to my fitting?

UPDATE: Please no guests at fittings due to the small fitting space. FaceTime is a great option. Thank you for your understanding.

do i need an AppointmenT?

Yes. There are no walks ins. Appointments are on Monday & Tuesday 9am-5pm only, while evening and weekends are for family time. Request an appointment.
